OF THE WASTE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE HELD ON JANUARY 24, 2011 IN THE GENERAL

The meeting of the Waste Management
Committee was called to order at 2:04 p.m. in the General Committee Room, City
Hall.

committee with an update on the Landfill Gas Utililization project.

Committee endorse the recommendation as outlined in Report WMC11-002 dated
January 24, 2011, of the Manager of Environmental Services as follows:
That Report WMC11-002, County Waste
Management Master Plan Update be received for information.

at its meeting recommended as follows:
That
City and County staff be directed to ensure the Waste Management Master Plans
for both be done colloboratively, as they are developed, wherever posssible.

January 24, 2011, of the Director of Public Works as follows:
Other Business
Councillor Vass asked staff to update committee on the prohibition of
liquid waste such as grease trap waste at the City County Landfill Site. Ms.
Kawalec provided information on liquid waste as it pertains to the prohibition
at the landfill.
Councillor
Vass asked staff about options for haulers of grease trap waste and the
Ministry of Environment’s position.
Councillor
Vass asked staff to keep local waste haulers informed, in writing, of new
developments regarding hauled liquid waste.
