Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee Held on June 24, 2015 in the Sutherland
Room, City Hall.
The
special meeting of the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee
was called to order at 4:32 p.m. by Stewart Hamilton, Chair in the Sutherland
Room, City Hall.

Proposed Peterborough Jail Demolition

That
the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee approve the
recommendations outlined in Report PACAC15-022, dated June 24, 2015 of the
Heritage Resources Coordinator, as follows:
That
the correspondence received regarding the proposed demolition of the
Peterborough County Jail located at 470 Water Street be received for
discussion,
That
the PACAC Chair send a letter in response to the correspondence received from
the County outlining the Committee’s concerns regarding the demolition of the
County Jail, and
That
the PACAC Chair be directed to send a letter to City Councillors indicating
that PACAC thinks that the County Jail is worthy of designation and that they
provide direction to the Committee on how to proceed.

London Street Generating Station Correspondence

the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee approve the
recommendations outlined in Report PACAC15-023, dated June 24, 2015 of the
Heritage Resources Coordinator:
That
the correspondence received regarding the London Street Power Generating
Station Expansion Project be received for information, and
That
the PACAC Chair send a letter to PUS indicating that the Committee requests
that in conjunction with the Heritage Department Interactive Panels be created
and installed and that effective evergreen screenings be utilities to mitigate
the new structures on site.

The
Mount Community Centre – Proposed Alterations to Verandah

PACAC endorse the inclusion of a ramp that retains the original design intent
of the staircase, and
That
the materials and finish to be used will be the same as previously approved for
porch reconstruction, and
That
the HPO Office be delegated authority to finalize the design.

PACAC Chair send a letter to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Peterborough
requesting that the Old Stone Schoolhouse be retained in some form.
