Minutes of a Meeting of the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee Held on February 5, 2015 in the Sutherland Room, City Hall.

 

The meeting of the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Kendra Sedgwick, Committee Coordinator in the Sutherland Room, City Hall.

That Stewart Hamilton be appointed as Chair of the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee for 2015.

Paul Lumsden volunteered to serve as PACAC’s representative on the Cenotaph Advisory Committee for 2015.

 

 

The Chair welcomed the new members to the Committee.

That the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee approve the recommendations outlined in Report PACAC15-009, dated March 5, 2015 of the Heritage Resources Coordinator, as follows:

 

a)            That the PACAC receive an application for an alteration to 512 Weller Street, a property designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, and;

 

b)           That the PACAC provide a decision, approving the application, based on the suitability of the proposed alterations, which is to include wood windows instead of vinyl casements, and

 

c)            That a letter containing the decision be provided to the property owner.

That the report with respect to the monthly activities of the Heritage Preservation Office for February 2015 be received for information.

That the PACAC Chair send a letter to the Planning Department regarding File: O1501 and Z1502 to include the following comments:

-       The building should be one storey lower than proposed, to be complimentary to the existing neighbourhood

-       Design should be more sympathetic to the streetscape

-       The building should have fewer units which would also lessen the required number of parking spots.
