GPA EDC Performance Metrics

Board Chair, Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation

 

Moved by Mayor Bennett, seconded by Councillor Gerow

 

That the Joint Services Steering Committee endorse the recommendation as outlined in Report GPAEDCJSSC13-001 dated March 28, 2013 of the Board Chair of the GPA EDC, as follows:

 

That the proposed metrics be endorsed for presentation to the respective Councils of the City and the County as per Section 4.02 c) of the Agreement dated December 2012.

Report CSSSJSSC13-003

Discretionary Benefits

Moved by Mayor Bennett, seconded by Councillor Whelan

 

Committee at its meeting of March 28, 2013, made the following recommendation:

 

a)            That the Joint Services Steering Committee endorse recommendation a) and b) of Report CSSSJSSC13-003; and

 

b)           That Staff be directed to bring benefits to the $14.00 - $15.00 range; and

 

c)            That the Committee request that the Warden, the Mayor and County Councillor Mitchell meet with the Minister of Community and Social Services to advocate for an increase in funding from the Province for discretionary benefits to provide a solution that recognizes the unique needs of Peterborough City and County which is achievable and sustainable.

Report CSSSJSSC13-004

Provincial One Time Grant Funding

Moved by Councillor Vass, seconded by Warden Jones

 

That Joint Services Steering Committee endorse the recommendations outlined in Report CSSSJSSC13-004 dated March 28, 2013, of the Director of Community Services, as follows:

 

a)            That the one time grant funding, in the amount of $1,513,219, from the Ministry of Community and Social Services be allocated in 2013 and 2014 as shown in Appendix A – Column H; and

 

b)           That the update on the first three months of the housing stability benefit be received for information.
