Whereas the City of Peterborough values global cooperation, cultural exchange, and the promotion of peace and mutual understanding; and

Whereas many municipalities across Ontario have successfully formed Sister City (twinning) partnerships that foster international friendship, cultural programming, and shared municipal knowledge; and

Whereas establishing a Sister City relationship with a municipality in Ukraine would demonstrate solidarity with the people of Ukraine and strengthen Canada–Ukraine ties at the local government level;

Now therefore be it resolved that:

Council direct staff to prepare a report on the development of a policy to guide the City in its consideration of Sister City (twinning) requests.
