2011, Fine Annex.

the City winning the 2011 Ontario Museum Association Award of Excellence for Corporate
Services and the 2011 Prince of Wales Prize.

that recognizes the outstanding
corporate contribution to the Ontario museum
community by the
Peterborough Museum & Archives for its partnership with the Arts and Heritage
Programs of Fleming College. Our sincere thank you to Gayle Mcintyre, Fleming
College, and Sarah Beam, Bata Shoe Museum, for their generous nomination.
The Prince of Wales Prize for
Municipal Heritage Leadership (2011):
Our congratulations to the
City of Peterborough for winning this award from The Heritage Canada Foundation
which recognizes Peterborough as a Municipality that has
demonstrated a strong and sustained
commitment to the conservation of its historic
places. Our sincere thanks to local
resident and historian Martha Kidd and the
Peterborough Historical Society for
their generous nomination, and our
congratulations to the City of
Peterborough Heritage Resources staff and the staff
of the Peterborough Museum
& Archives. And a special thank you to Gail Mcintyre and Deb Scott of
Fleming College for their letters of support.
Book of Remembrance:
In recognition of Remembrance Day, we
acknowledge with pride, the newly-completed
and beautiful reproduction of the Book
of Remembrance which will be placed on
permanent display in the
foyer of the City of Peterborough. Our sincere thanks to the Cenotaph
Committee of Peterborough, who generously
funded this beautiful reproduction of
the Book of Remembrance.”
Morgan Tamplin inquired
about the status of the Municipal Cultural Plan and Committee discussed MAAC’s
involvement in the process.
Councillor Pappas left the meeting at
6:06 p.m. and returned at 6:07 p.m.
Morgan Tamplin indicated
that he will attend the Canadian Museums Day on Parliament Hill conference on November
29, 2011.
Next Meeting
The Chair indicated the next meeting
is scheduled for January 12, 2012.
