Minutes of a Meeting of the Peterborough Architectural
Conservation Advisory Committee held on November 5, 2015 in the Sutherland Room,
City Hall.
The
meeting of the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee was
called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Stewart Hamilton, Chair in the Sutherland Room,
City Hall.

recommendations outlined in Report PACAC15-034, dated November 5, 2015 of the
Heritage Resources Coordinator, as follows:
a)
That
the PACAC register DOP with the Ontario Heritage Trust for 2016;
b)
That
the PACAC approve the reallocation of up to $2,000 from the unallocated funds
in the PACAC reserve account to fund a contract staff person to assist in
coordinating DOP 2016.

Creation of Walking Tours

the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee approve the
recommendations outlined in Report PACAC15-039, dated November 5, 2015 of the
Heritage Resources Coordinator, as follows:
a)
That
the PACAC undertake the production of two walking tours of the historic
commercial core of the City, and;
b)
That
the PACAC fund two walking tours of the downtown to a limit of $2,000, and;
c)
That
the funding for the project come from a combination of a reallocation of funds
approved for the 40th anniversary celebrations and from the
committee’s advertising and publicity budget.

a presentation by Sheridan Graham from the County of Peterborough on the County
Jail Park Proposal be received; and
b)
That
the concept be endorsed.

Alteration
Application 168 Brock Street

the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee approve the
recommendations outlined in Report PACAC15-040, dated November 5, 2015 of the
Heritage Resources Coordinator, as follows:
a)
That
the PACAC receive a presentation from Ken Trevelyan of Trevelyan Architect Inc.
regarding an application for an alteration to 168 Brock Street, a property
designated under the Ontario Heritage Act,
b)
That
the PACAC approve the proposed design, with the stipulation that the exterior
finishes of the proposed addition be completed with natural or composite
clapboard, and that metal clad wood casement windows be used, and that the
property owner be encouraged to continue with the natural or composite siding
for the remainder of the existing addition on the east elevation, and
c)
That
a letter containing the decision be provided to the property owner.

recommendations outlined in Report PACAC15-035, dated November 5, 2015 of the
Heritage Resources Coordinator, as follows:
a)
That
the PACAC receive the updated draft Strategic Plan for discussion,
b)
That
following its discussion the PACAC amend the Strategic Plan as directed by the
Committee; and
c)
The
final version of the Strategic Plan be brought back to Committee in February
2016 for final approval by the Committee.

the report with respect to the activities of the Heritage Preservation Office

be approved.
