The meeting of the Waste Management Committee was called to order at 2:00 p.m. in the Doris Room, City Hall.

Update of Waste Operations Coordinator Position

That the Waste Management Committee approve the recommendation as outlined in Report WMC15-004 dated March 16, 2015, of the Director of Utility Services as follows:

That Don Briand be congratulated on his appointment as the Waste Operations Coordinator.

Extension of Contracts to Supply Labour and Equipment at the Peterborough County/City Waste Management Facility

That the Waste Management Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report WMC15-007 dated March 16, 2015, from the Director of Utility Services, as follows:

That Report WMC15-007 dated March 16, 2015 advising of the extension of contracts for the supply of labour and equipment at the Peterborough County/City Waste Management Facility, at the existing terms and conditions, be received for information.

Report WMC15-008

Award of Tender T-05-15 for the Construction of Cell 3, Installation of a Gas Collection System and Expansion of the Public Drop-off Area at the Peterborough County/City Waste Management Facility

 

Moved by Councillor Bonneau

 

That the Waste Management Committee approve the recommendations as outlined in Report WMC15-008 dated March 16, 2015, of the Director of Utility Services as follows:

  a)          That Tender T-05-15 for the construction of Cell 3, installation of a gas collection system and expansion of the public drop-off area at the Peterborough County/City Waste Management Facility be awarded to Drain Bros. Excavating, 2130 8^th Line Road North, Lakefield, ON K0L 2H0 at a total cost of $3,926,964.56 plus HST of $510,505.39 for a total of $4,437,469.95; and

 b)          That the contract with UEM Consulting, 120 Colborne Street, Unit 106-107 Brantford, ON N3T 2G6 for the design, tender evaluation and construction supervision of Tender T-05-15 be increased by $35,000 from $85,000 to $120,000 plus HST of $15,600 for a total of $135,600.
