MINUTES OF A MEETING OF ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON MAY 13, 2010 IN THE SUTHERLAND ROOM, CITY HALL

 

The meeting of Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:06 p.m. in the Sutherland Room, City Hall.

That the minutes of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee meeting held on April 8, 2010 be approved.

Report ACHAC10-015A

Advisory Committee Priorities for 2010

 

Moved by Candice Shaw

 

That the Arts Culture & Heritage Advisory Committee (ACHAC) approve the recommendation outlined in Report ACHAC10-015A dated May 13, 2010, of the Manager, Arts Culture & Heritage Division as follows:

 

That the summary of the input from ACHAC on its priorities for the remainder of the year be received for information and discussion and;

 

That Utility Services and Planning Department projects, including agency circulations be brought forward to the ACHAC committee as a standing agenda item.

That a staff report be presented on the status of Arts Week, including a presentation by the Arts Week Committee Co-ordinator at the June ACHAC meeting.

That the Committee values the position of an Art Co-ordinator and encourages the City to moved toward retaining a full-time Art Co-ordinator position.

Culture Days

That the Arts Culture & Heritage Advisory Committee (ACHAC) approve the recommendation outlined in Report ACHAC10-016 dated May 13, 2010, of the Manager, Arts Culture & Heritage Division as follows:

 

That the Arts Culture & Heritage Advisory Committee request that the Mayor proclaim the last weekend in September 2010, and in subsequent years, as “Culture Days” to recognize the arts, culture & heritage activities that take place annually.

The Chair distributed the April 26, 2010 Community Projects Grants 2010 and Community Investment Grants 2010 reports from Community Services.
