MINUTES OF A MEETING OF PLANNING COMMITTEE HELD ON MONDAY, APRIL 19, 2010 IN THE GENERAL COMMITTEE ROOM, CITY HALL

 

Planning Committee was called to order at 6:28 p.m. in the General Committee Room.

Confirmation of Minutes – March 29, 2010 

 

Moved by Councillor Eggleton

 

That the minutes of the meeting of Planning Committee held on March 29, 2010 be approved.

Carolyn Kimble, Land Use Planner, provided an introduction to this item under the Planning Act.

 

No one spoke in opposition to the application.

 

No one spoke in support of the application.

 

Mr. Peter Lawless, solicitor, spoke on behalf of the applicant.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Moved by Councillor Peeters

 

That Council approve the recommendations outlined in Report PLPD10-023 dated April 19, 2010, of the Manager, Planning Division, as follows:

 

a)         That Section 3.9.184, Exceptions in the City’s Comprehensive Zoning By-Law #1997-123, be amended in accordance with the draft amendment, attached as Exhibit ‘C’ to Report PLPD10-023, to address the following:

 

i)          Maximum Building Height of 2 storeys

 

ii)         Minimum sideyard setback of 0.7m from the northerly side lot line

 

iii)        Increase the maximum floor area of a clinic from 320m2 to 560m2

 

b)        That the zoning of the subject property, be amended from the R.1, R.2, R.3 – Residential District to the SP.241-184 – ‘H’ – Special Commercial District in accordance with the draft amendment attached as Exhibit ‘C’ to Report PLPD10-023.

 

c)         That the ‘H’ Holding Symbol be removed at such time as Site Plan Approval is granted for the subject property, including:

 

i)          a provision requiring that the properties known as 254 Reid Street be merged in title with the property known as 250 Reid Street; and

 

ii)         road widening along Reid Street

Other Business

 

Councillor Hall asked staff about a potential development to the south-west of the City.

That the Director of Planning provide a report outlining the City’s strategy in regards to the development study by Brookfield Properties Corporation in the Township of Cavan Monaghan.

Councillor Vass enquired about the status of the servicing discussions for the Cold Springs development.
