October 16, 2012, of the Recreation Division Coordinator, as follows:

Presentation by the
Peterborough Baseball Association
Scott Cherwaty of Peterborough
Baseball Association and Bill Byrick of Trent University made a presentation.
Moved by Bill Juby Jr.
That the Arenas, Parks and Recreation
Advisory Committee (APRAC) approve the recommendations outlined in Report APRAC12-028
dated October 16, 2012, of the Recreation Division Coordinator, as follows:
a) That a
presentation by executive members of the Peterborough Baseball Association on a
proposal to partner with the City to develop two additional adult sized
baseball diamonds be received for information;
b) That Staff be directed to
investigate the feasibility of partnering with the Peterborough Baseball
Association to develop two adult sized baseball diamonds, and
report back to APRAC at a future meeting; and
c) That it be
endorsed that the City accepts donations,
issues income tax receipts to donors, and deposits all monies received in an
interest-bearing account held by the City in support of the Peterborough
Baseball Association’s fundraising efforts.

2012 Beavermead
Campground Capital Budget Plan

That the Arenas, Parks and Recreation
Advisory Committee approve the recommendations outlined in Report APRAC12-029
dated October 16, 2012, of the Manager of Facilities & Special Projects, as
follows:
a)
That
the continuation of campground functions in Beavermead Park be supported as a
desirable function to support community tourism and outdoor recreation, and
b) That Council be encouraged
to consider further long term capital investment in the park to upgrade camping
facilities in order to improve the occupancy and financial picture of the
campground.
Bill Juby Jr. requested the
recommendations be separated for discussion and vote.
Upon recommendation a), the motion carried.

Advisory Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report APRAC12-031
dated October 16th, 2012 of the Director of Community Services, as follows:
That a presentation on the Crescent
Street Urban Design/Land-Use Study and the Louis Street Urban Park/Public
Common by Brian Buchardt, the City’s Urban Design Planner, be received and that
feedback be provided.

Kawartha Village
Co-operative Homes Inc. – Fundraising for Accessible Playground Equipment
That the request for assistance for
new playground equipment from Kawartha Village Co-operative Homes Inc. be
received for information.

Other Business
Staff provided information on two Open
Houses regarding sport fields:
· Thomas A.
Stewart Secondary School (TASS) on October 24, 2012 from 5:30 pm to 7:00
pm in the TASS Library to review plans for the field conversion and
track project, and
· Fleming College on November
3, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the College Galleria to review plans
for a new artificial field complex.
The Chair and Committee discussed the
October 26, 2012 deadline for Citizen Appointments to Advisory Committees. Also
discussed was a possible new arena at Trent University as well as drafting
letters of recognition for sports teams.
Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Committee is
scheduled for November
20, 2012. The location of the meeting is yet to be determined.
