Minutes of a Meeting of the Peterborough Architectural
Conservation Advisory Committee Held on June 4, 2015 in the Sutherland Room, City
Hall.
The
meeting of the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee was
called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Stewart Hamilton, Chair in the Sutherland Room,
City Hall.

Erik
Hanson informed the Committee that Kathryn McLeod was the successful candidate for
the Heritage Researcher position. He welcomed her back to the position and Erik
also introduced Cassandra Coleman to the Committee. She is the Heritage
office’s summer intern and will be working on putting together the application
process for alterations to designated buildings.

Irwin declared an Interest in Report PACAC51-019 – Heritage Preservation Office
Report, specifically the Heritage Conservation District Study update as she
lives within the study area.

Office Report, specifically the Affordable Housing update, as his parents live
in proximity to the property at 1545 Monaghan Road.

the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee approve the
recommendation outlined in Report PACAC15-020, dated June 4, 2015 of the Heritage
Resources Coordinator, as follows:
That
the report with respect to the review of the Strategic Planning Exercise
undertaken by the PACAC be received for discussion.
At
the meeting, Committee added the following:
That
a communications sub-committee be established, consisting of Martin Parker,
Jacqueline Irwin and Councillor Pappas to investigate newsletter and website
opportunities and report back at the September Committee meeting; and
That
a sub-committee be struck, consisting of Catherine Dibben and Paul Lumsden, to prioritize
the Strategic Plan initiatives and report back to Committee in September.

Pappas declared an interested as his parents live in close proximity to the

the verbal update provided by the Heritage Resources Coordinator regarding the
Batten-White subdivision and Zoning By-law Amendment for 25 Merino Drive (File
Z1505) be received for information.

Chair advised the Committee that a special meeting may be called later in June
to discuss the possible demolition of the County jail. Staff will inform
Committee of the need for a special meeting once the Chair has received
correspondence from the County.
Councillor Pappas left the meeting at
8:40 p.m.
Next Meeting
The
Chair indicated that the next meeting of the Committee is scheduled for
September 3, 2015.
