MINUTES OF A MEETING OF ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON JANUARY 14, 2010 IN THE SUTHERLAND ROOM, CITY HALL

 

The meeting of Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Sutherland Room, City Hall.

That the minutes of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee meeting held on November 12, 2009 be approved.

Arts, Culture & Heritage Advisory Committee Meeting

That the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report ACHAC10-004 dated January 14, 2010 of the Manager of Arts, Culture & Heritage as follows:

 

That the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee convene on Wednesday November 10, 2010, and that the 2010 Meeting Schedule of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee approved as amended.

Public Art Policy

 

Moved by Councillor Farquharson

 

That the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report ACHAC10-002 dated January 14, 2010 of the Arts Coordinator as follows:

 

a)         That the report ACHAC10-002 be received for information.

 

b)        That a Public Art Ad-Hoc Committee mandated to develop a plan for public art, for the next three to five years be established.

Heritage Resources Coordinator

Report ACHAC10-003

Heritage Preservation Office Report

 

Moved by Andre Vallillee

 

That the ACHAC approve the recommendation outlined in Report ACHAC10-003, dated January 14, 2010, of the Heritage Resources Coordinator, as follows:

 

That the Heritage Preservation Office report with respect to the monthly activities of the Heritage Preservation Office for November and December 2009, be received for information.


 

Moved by Councillor Farquharson

 

That a report regarding the transoms above Mars music Store, Market Hall be requested from Mary Gallop, Manager, Facilities and Special Projects

Community Services, and to invite Ms. Gallop to attend a future Committee meeting to comment on the transoms, and to discuss the heritage resources utilized during the Market Hall renovation project.

Upon the original motion by Andre Vallillee, this motion carried.

 

 

Other Business

 

Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee By-law 

 

Discussion regarding the Arts Culture, and Heritage Advisory Committee by-law occurred. Staff and Committee will review the by-law at a future Committee meeting.
