meeting of the Arts, Culture & Heritage Advisory Committee was called to
order at 7:00 p.m. by Dennis Carter-Edwards, Chair in the Sutherland Room, City
Hall.

approve the recommendations outlined in Report ACHAC15-016 dated April 9, 2015
of the Director of Community Services as follows:
a)
That
the referral from the Arenas Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, of a
proposal from Hank Fisher to rename the Simcoe and Bethune Street Park in honour
of Stompin’ Tom Connors, to the Arts Culture & Heritage Advisory Committee
for consideration as either a potential public art project or other appropriate
form of recognition, be received.
b)
That
the Public Art Committee explore ways to honour Stompin Tom and report back to
Committee.

Update on Public Art

outlined in Report ACHAC15-014 dated April 9, 2015, of the Director of
Community Services as follows:
a)
That
a verbal update by Interim Public Art Committee Chair, Bruce Stonehouse, on
Public Art projects be received; and
b)
That
that the proposal for an annual graffiti public art installation under the
arches of the Hunter Street bridge at an estimated cost of between $25,000 to
$30,000 for the administration of a juried competition, artist fees and
installation, be approved.

That the report with respect to the
current status of the Gateway Project be received for information.
