The meeting of Museum & Archives Advisory Committee was called to order at 5:15 p.m. at the Peterborough Museum & Archives.

That the Museum & Archives Advisory Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report MAAC10-018 dated December 9, 2010, of the Museum Director, as follows:

That meeting provisions outlined in section 8.1 of By-law 05-042, as amended,  be waived and that the 2011 Museum & Archives Advisory Committee meeting schedule be approved as presented.

That the Museum & Archives Advisory Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report MAAC10-017 dated December 9, 2010, of the Museum Director, as follows:

 

That the objects identified through an assessment according to provincial and national criteria for deaccessioning and itemized in Table 1 (Appendix A) be disposed of in compliance with the Peterborough Museum & Archives Deaccessions Policy.

That the Museum Director’s report with respect to the monthly activities of the Peterborough Museum & Archives for September, October and November 2010 be received for information.

Municipal Cultural Plan

That the Municipal Cultural Plan consider the products and by-products of cultural activity, both tangible and intangible, as among Peterborough's cultural resources, including but not limited to, archival documents, artifacts, art, music, stories, traditions and history; and

 

That the Municipal Cultural Plan give consideration to the significance of Ashburnham Memorial Park, as a cultural gathering place, as a war memorial and as the gateway from the Trent Severn Waterway to Ashburnham (City of Peterborough).
