Minutes of a Meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Committee Held on April 2, 2014 in the Sutherland Room.

 

The meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Committee was called to order at 4:03 p.m. by Councillor Riel, Chair in the Sutherland Room, City Hall.

Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service New 911 Technologies

 

Alison Kirkland, 911 Co-ordinator, Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service provided an overview of Report AAC14-013.

That the presentation by Alison Kirkland, 911 Co-ordinator from Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service with respect to the new 911 technology be received for information.

Report AAC14-012

Draft 2013 Annual Status Report on the City’s 2012 to 2016 Accessibility Plan

That the Accessibility Advisory Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report AAC14-012 dated April 2, 2014, of the Accessibility Compliance Coordinator as follows:

 

That the Committee provide comments on the draft 2013 Status Report regarding the City’s 2012 to 2016 Accessibility Plan.

Report AAC14-009

AAC Information Brochure

That the Accessibility Advisory Committee approve the recommendations outlined in Report AAC14-009, dated April 2, 2014, of the Accessibility Coordinator as follows:

 

a)            That Report AAC14-009 with respect to the AAC Information Brochure be received for information, and

 

b)           That the Committee discuss options and provide input for the brochure.

Other Business

 

1.            Recommendation from the AAC Transportation Committee.

That the Accessibility Advisory Committee recommend that a pedestrian operated crosswalk be installed at the intersection of Hilliard and Langton Streets.

2.            Request for Nominations for the Holnbeck Award.

 

Nominations for the Holnbeck Award will be received until April 16, 2014.  Nomination packages are available on the City’s website or from the Accessibility office.

 

 

Next Meeting

 

The Chair indicated that the next Committee meeting will be held on May 7, 2014.
