That the Arenas Parks and Recreation
Advisory Committee endorse the recommendation outlined in Report APRAC12-014
dated June 19, 2012, of the Director of Community Services, as follows:
a)
That
the PSWC Steering Committee be dissolved and be replaced by an Administrative
Committee consisting of the Director of Community Services for the City of Peterborough,
the Manager of the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, and the Executive
Director of Student Services for Fleming College, to address operational
matters;
b)
That
operational matters for which the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre
Administrative Committee requires direction be referred to the Arenas Parks and
Recreation Advisory Committee and the Fleming College Board of Governors
respectively; and
c)
That
corporate matters be referred to the City of Peterborough and Fleming College
Liaison Committee.

Advisory Committee approve the recommendations outlined in Report APRAC12-022
dated June 19, 2012, of the Recreation Division Coordinator, as follows:
a) That the Arenas
Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee provide staff with suggestions
for potential recreational uses of the City owned property located at 675
Johnston Drive, at the September 18, 2012 meeting;
b) That staff be
directed to investigate the feasibility of those potential recreational uses,
and report back to the Committee at a future meeting, and;
At its meeting of June 19,
2012 Committee made the following recommendation:
c) That staff be
directed to contact other City departments as necessary to determine any requirements
to permit recreational uses on the site and report to the Committee at a future
meeting.

Other Business
Staff provided an update on the
proposed dog park and advised that a public meeting is scheduled for June 28th,
2012 at 6:00 pm at the Free Methodist Church (450 Lansdowne).
An update was given by staff regarding
the Rugby Clubhouse project at Nicholls Oval.
Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Committee is
scheduled for September
18, 2012.
