Meeting Of Arenas, Parks And Recreation Advisory Committee Held On Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Services requested a closed session item be added to the agenda under Other
Business, pertaining to Municipal Act section 239(2)(b) Personal Matters About
An Identifiable Individual, Including Municipal Or Local Board Employees. The
Committee agreed to add this item to the agenda.

That
the minutes of the meeting of the Arenas, Parks and Recreation Advisory
Committee held on June
19, 2012 be
approved.

Little Lake Master
Plan Update
Mary Gallop, Manager of Facilities and
Special Projects provided a presentation on the Little Lake Master Plan Update.

That the Arenas Parks and Recreation
Advisory Committee approve the recommendations outlined in Report APRAC12-028
dated September 18, 2012, of the Manager of Facilities & Special Projects,
as follows:
a) That Council
receive a presentation from the Manager of Facilities & Special Projects on
the Little Lake Master Plan, and
b) That report
APRAC12-028 and the presentation from the Manager of Facilities & Special
Projects be received for information and discussion.

Suggestions for
Recreational Uses of 675 Johnston Drive
Moved by Gary Rabjohn
a) That potential
recreational uses for 675 Johnston Drive be presented to Staff; and
b) That staff be directed to
investigate the feasibility of those potential recreational uses, and
report back to APRAC at a future meeting and,
c) That a
neighbourhood meeting be organized to obtain public input on the use of the land
at 675 Johnston Drive.

Report APRAC12-023
Amendments to the
Smoking By-Law Pertaining to Del Crary and James Stevenson Parks
That the Arenas Parks and Recreation
Advisory Committee endorse the recommendation outlined in Report APRAC12-023
dated September 18, 2012, of the Recreation Division Coordinator as follows:
That By-Law 11-074, being a By-Law
respecting smoking in the City of Peterborough be amended as follows:
i) That section 7 be deleted
in its entirety and replaced with the following:
No person shall smoke or
hold lighted tobacco within Del Crary Park, except within the area designated
for smoking, as outlined on the map attached hereto as Schedule A; and
ii) That sections 8 and 9, and
Schedule B and C, defining specific no smoking areas within James Stevenson
Park, be deleted in their entirety.

That staff be directed to report on
the feasibility of banning smoking on City trails at a future Arenas, Parks and
Recreation Advisory Committee meeting.
