The meeting of the Museum & Archives Advisory Committee was called to order at
5:07 p.m. by Natalie Garnett, Deputy City Clerk, in the Fine Annex, Peterborough Museum & Archives.

Election of Officers – 2014

 

The Deputy City Clerk called for nominations for the position of Chair.

That Nancy Jackson be appointed as Chair of the Museum and Archives Advisory Committee for 2015.

Nancy Jackson assumed the Chair.

The Chair called for nominations for the position of Vice Chair.

That Gayle McIntyre be appointed as Vice Chair of the Museum and Archives Advisory Committee for 2015.

The Chair welcomed Mr. Brown to the committee and the members introduced themselves.

Operating Budget 2015

That the Museum & Archives Advisory Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report MAAC15-001 dated March 12, 2015, of the Museum Director, as follows:

 

That the Museum Director’s report regarding the 2015 Operating Budget for the Peterborough Museum & Archives (PMA) be received for information.

Report MAAC15-002

Community Museum Operating Grant Requirements (2015 to 2018)

That the Museum & Archives Advisory Committee approve the recommendations outlined in Report MAAC15-002 dated March 12, 2015, of the Museum Director, as follows:

 

a)            That the Museum Director’s report regarding the Community Museum Operating Grant be received for information.

 

b)           That the job description of the Curator, attached as Appendix A, be received for information, in compliance with the Community Museum Operating Grant requirements.

Other Business  

 

Susan Neale, Museum Director provided an update on March Break Camps at the museum and advised that the archives will reopen on April 7, 2015.  It was noted that the official opening for the Fleming College installation on textiles will be April 23^rd, 2015.

 

Karen Carter-Edwards volunteered to be the MAAC representative on the 2014 Civic Awards Selection Committee.

 

  

Next Meeting

 

The Chair indicated that the next meeting is scheduled for April 9, 2015.
