The meeting of Arts, Culture and

Broken City Lab
That the Arts, Culture and Heritage
Advisory Committee approve the recommendation outlined in Report ACHAC10-001A
dated February 11, 2010 of the Manager of Arts, Culture & Heritage as
follows:
That
the report found in Appendix A from the Director of Artspace on the Broken City
Lab exhibit be distributed to the Director of Planning, the Urban Design
Planner, the Manager of Transportation and Council.

dated February 11, 2010 of the Heritage Resources Coordinator as follows:
That
the Arts, Culture and Heritage Division report on municipal cultural planning
be received for information.

Interim Public Art
Advisory Committee
Moved by Councillor Pappas
That
the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee (ACHAC) approve the
recommendations outlined in Report ACHAC10-008 dated February 11, 2010 of the
Arts Coordinator as follows:
a)
That
the Public Art Ad Hoc Committee approved at the January 14, 2010 meeting be
renamed the Interim Public Art Advisory Committee to ensure compliance with the
Public Art Policy; and
b)
That
the Interim Public Art Advisory Committee function as a sub-committee of ACHAC
for the balance of 2010, with the Chair reporting accordingly; and
c)
That
Iga Janik be appointed as Chair of the Interim Public Art Advisory Committee,
to work with City staff to recruit up to a total of seven members including:
the Chair, three community representatives and three City staff for appointment
at the next ACHAC meeting; and
d)
That
the Interim Public Art Advisory Committee be responsible developing the terms
of reference including role, responsibilities, size, composition, proposed
membership, and reporting relationships for the Public Art Advisory Committee
and generic Project Juries; and for determining the role of public cultural
institutions like the Art Gallery of Peterborough in support of Public Art
projects, for ACHAC’s consideration; and
e) That the Interim
Public Art Advisory Committee undertake a consultation process to identify
possible public art projects for 2011 and 2012 for ACHAC’s endorsement.

Arts Culture and
Heritage Advisory Committee By-law Review
Moved by Councillor Pappas
That
the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee (ACHAC) approve the
recommendations outlined in Report ACHAC10-010 dated February 11, 2010, of the
Manager, Arts, Culture and Heritage, as follows:
a)
That
the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee receive By-Law Number 05-041
(As Amended by 06-190) A By-law to Establish An Arts, Culture and Heritage
Advisory Committee for information; and
b)
That
the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee complete its annual review of
said establishing By-law and identify any current issues and concerns.
c)
That
ACHAC invite the Director of Community Services to make two presentations at
the March ACHAC meeting, one being a Municipal Services ‘101’ session, and
another presentation regarding the ACHAC establishing by-law.
Pat Hooper suggested that
at a future date a subcommittee of ACHAC could be struck to work on identifying
revisions to the ACHAC establishing By-Law.
Dennis Carter-Edwards
suggested that there be a Committee retreat to establish a strategic plan or
mandate for the Committee.

Emerge

advised that on February 25, 2010 an exhibition entitled “Emerge” will begin at
Artspace.
